The Truth about weight loss

The Truth about weight loss

All bodies are different. If you are at a dangerously high or dangerously low weight or have an eating disorder (by the way, binge eating disorder is a thing) consult a doctor. If you have body dysmorphia (even without the eating disorder,) please seek help. Use common sense, I am not responsible for literally anything.

Let's also start with a positive, self-loving mindset.

First don’t compare yourself with others. We all have insecurities, and we all feel a little fat sometimes. But that doesn’t mean your not pretty dafuckkk… beauty comes from inside! .

Don’t ever Eat less, Exercise more or Count calories!

But if you do that^^ this is what happens to your body and your mental health.

You might accidentally lose muscle, gain the weight back when eating anything "bad”.

WHY YOUR WEIGHT DOESN'T TOTALLY MATTER

Your weight doesn't take into account:

  • Muscle (which weighs more than fat)

  • Bone density

  • Breast size/density

  • Water weight

  • Hair (people with dreadlocks and very thick hair may have hair that weighs up to 3lbs/1 1/3km!)

  • Clothes

  • Weight fluctuations during your menstrual cycle.

REPLACEMENT, NOT RESTRICTION

Love your body because it helps you. When you're sick, it fights for you. When you're hurt, it heals you.

The most common misconception when it comes to eating right is that you should eat less and exercise more. While yes, exercise is amazing, you're actually supposed to continue eating an average amount of food per day and NOT reduce or increase your food intake.

Instead of reducing your calorie intake, swap things out and make better decisions. If you're going to buy pizza with fries, buy pizza and veggies. If you just want a slice of pizza, have pizza with meat and veggies because they're good for you. yes, it's more food, but you need to get all the food groups involved.

Eat all four food groups.

  • PLEASE! Don't cut out any food groups or macronutrients unless advised by a doctor. This could lead to gastrointestinal infections, which also means bloating and pain.

  • before getting fast food, ask yourself if this is your only option and if you've had any in the past week. If it's fast food or no food, chose fats food, but chose a better option (which can mean getting a salad, skipping the fries, or adding a healthier side!)

THE 4-3-2-1 RULE

  • Four bottles of water (500ml)

  • Three meals

  • Two snacks

  • One sweet treat/small dessert

THE THREE SIDES OF IT

There are three sides to nutrition: health, happiness, and beauty.

Most people have two at once. Some people are lucky enough to have all three, and some people only have one. You might be happy and pretty but be struggling with your physical health. You might be pretty and healthy but be struggling with depression or anxiety (either the mental illnesses or the moods.) You also might be happy and healthy but not look like a supermodel, and that's ok!

BODY INSPIRATION

No one is perfect

Body inspiration can be helpful and motivating, but there's a catch. Try posing like them, flexing your muscles, and sucking in, and you'll probably look just like them. Don't hold yourself to high standards.

Last thing…

Patience it all takes time, have that goal, achieve it, but do it correctly!
