How to stop worrying about the future
Everyone worries before important events, before deadlines, exams and interviews, worry about unpaid bills and the list can go on. These types of worrying can be constructive pushing us to more work, effort and ways to solve our problems
But there are chronic worries that spur from the unknown like worrying about future and improbable scenarios that might happen, these types of worrying are very dangerous affecting our daily life, paralyze us from taking any action
1. Define your worrying:
Know what kind of worrying you suffering from, is it the valid one about actual problems? One that push you to exert more effort and find ways to solve your problem? Or is it the other type that controls you fills you with negative thoughts and fear of the future?
Once you define the type of fear you have. Then you are now aware you need to deal with the problem and face your fears.
2. Write your fears down:
Jot all your worries down, empty your mind on a piece of paper. As you write the list of worries and how you feel, you are giving your mind a chance to relax and process better.
3. Talk to trustful friend:
When you talk about these worries out loud with someone will make you rethink your worries and find help and support from others. Keeping worries locked up inside you will only increase the burden on you and will make them seem bigger and invincible.
4. Mediate:
Mediation or practicing any kind of relaxing technique where you close your eyes for 10 minutes without thinking, only focusing on you breathing. Relax in any way you find suitable, yet mediation has been proven to improve the health
