Dealing with stress
I know some of us already finished their final exams, but that does not mean I am late with this article. We still have another semester next year! And we are going to pass through finals again, so you may want to write these tips down.
The human body is not made to deal with the amount of stress we deal with through finals, which is hard and constant. Still, we have no choice but to pass through this. Here are some tips on dealing with stress through college final exams or daily life situations.
Sleep
I am sure I am not the only one that gets grumpy when does not get enough sleep. Getting enough sleep every night makes you more alert during the day, more proactive, and makes you think clearer which makes you be better organize and prevents you from stress.
I know this is an advice you may be tired to hear, but it does make a difference in your daily life.
Clean your work space
Whether you are on work, on college or in your house, you better keep clean your work space and environment. The excess of messiness your space more stressful, makes the environment more hot and gives a sense of blocking the air that enters.
Maintain your work space clean and you'll feel motivated to work, as when the food looks prettier you are more excited to eat. Not to mention that you will find everything easier and will skip the rush of not finding some important paper.
Organize yourself
Organize your time and tasks! By making a schedule you will avoid lots of stress. In it you should include all your types of tasks: college's, work's, home's, and personal's so you can compare the time between tasks and make it is enough to breath for a second (assuming you have a lot of things to do).
In addition to the task that you should spread through different days of the week, which some may be compulsory (like exams or workshops) and some may be by choice (like going to the bank or visiting a friend), you should also plan the hours through the day. Not like a obsessive minute by minute schedule, but just to have an idea, this specially when students have lots exams of different classes: establish certain time to the different subjects depending on the difficulty of it.
Snacks
While studying or working, bring with you a big bowl of fruits, a smoothie, cookies, coffee, something that keeps you eating constantly, that fills you, but also that does not makes you unhealthy, because it is something that you will be doing everyday.
This is a big stress reliever and will also cut the excuse of leaving the table because you are hungry. Keeping the stomach full and your body hydrated will also make you think better and being more proactive.
Take breaks
When feeling overwhelmed, take a break to rest or to do something that distracts you. Arts, sports, going outside, are some things that keep you awake but also make your brain rest and relax the tension in you. Find your medicine and use it, it can be: painting, nature, music, workouts, dancing, meditation, or talking.
